 Biography :

Professor Berrin Tansel has received her PhD in environmental engineering from University of WisconsinMadison in 1985. Currently she is a professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Florida International University FIU in Miami Florida. Before joining FIU Dr Tansel was a project manager at Massachusetts Water Resources Authority. She has also worked at the Center for Environmental Management at Tufts University. She has authored over 200 research papers reports and professional practice publications. Dr Tansel is an elected Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers ASCE and elected Diplomate of American Academy of Water Resources Engineers. She is a member of Water Environment Federation Environmental and Water Resources Institute of ASCE and Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors. She is the associate editor of Journal of Environmental Management and serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Water Air Soil Pollution and Recent Patents on Chemical Engineering.

 Biography :

Dr. Adewuyi is a Professor of Chemical and Bioengineering at the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. He obtained his BS in Chemical Engineering from Ohio University Cum Laude and MS and PhD 1985 in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from the University of Iowa Prior to joining NCAT in 1994, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at Boston College and the University of Illinois in Urbana and Senior Staff/ Research Engineer at Mobil RD Corporation. He is the past President of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers AICHE Triad Section Secretary of the AICHE Environmental Division and Chair of AICHE Minority Affairs Committee MAC. He received the MAC’s Excellence and Service Award in 2005 and Distinguished Service Award in 2006. He received NCAT 2010 College of Engineering Senior Researcher of the Year Award and Chemical Engineering Teacher of the Year Award in 1994 and 1997. He is serving as an editorial board member of three journals and reviewer of over 25 reputed journals.

Dr.Chang is currently a professor with Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering Department at University of Central Florida (UCF). He conducts a research program and teaches courses in the areas of environmental and water resources systems engineering. Chang received his B.S. degree in 1983 from the National Chiao-Tung University in Taiwan, and his Master′s and Ph.D. degree from Cornell University, USA in 1989 and 1991, respectively. He was a professor with Environmental Engineering Department at Texas A&M University System before joining UCF in 2005.  Develop improved methodologies on detection, quantification, and characterization of pathogen survival in different environmental matrices.
Determine inactivation/survival rates and transport characteristics of fecal coliform and pathogens from manure sources to surface or ground water.
Determine sources of nonpoint fecal pollution to urban watershed using bacterial source tracking technology.
Quantify important mechanisms influencing the transport and retention of pathogenic microorganisms in subsurface environments.
Adapt and improve numerical models for simulating the environmental transport and fate of pathogenic microorganisms.

Dr. Xian Qiming is a professor of environmental Chemistry in Nanjing University, China.  Dr. Xian has worked in the Department of Environmental Science of Nanjing University for 6 years since he had received a PH.D in Environemtal Science from Nanjing University.  He teaches "Environmental Monitoring" for junior students in School of the Environment and "Environmental Organic Analytical Chemistry" for senior students. He got a postdoctoral fellowship from ENSRC, Canada and studied passive sampling method in Health Canada in 2008-2009. Dr. Xian is interested in analytical technology of trace pollutants in water and chlorinated disinfection byproducts in drinking water, and he had published more than twenty research papers in international journal. Prof Shoji Motomizu received his BSc degree in 1966 and MSc degree in 1968 in Analytical Chemistry from Okayama University in Japan. His DSc in Analytical Chemistry was awarded in 1973 from Kyoto University in Japan. In 1968, he started his study on analytical chemistry at Okayama University as a research associate and later he was promoted to a professor of Analytical Chemistry of Okayama University in 1992. He is currently a Professor of Specialty in Research of Okayama University and a Professor of Aichi Institute of Technology. He was a chairman of JAFIA the Japanese Association for Flow Injection Analysis in 1994-2005 and was the Editor in Chief of JSAC Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry journals Bunseki Kagaku in 2003-2006. Now he is a Titular Member of Analytical Chemistry Division IUPAC and is an Advisory/Editorial Board of Talanta International, J Environmental Chemistry, International J AnalChem, J Flow Injection Analysis, RSC Analytical Methods etc., He received several awards for his contribution to analytical chemistry. Dr. Yonghong Wu, Associate Professor in Chinese Academy of Science. His interests focus on the studies of periphyton biofilms. The goal is to understand the relationship between micro-ecosystems such as periphyton and aquatic ecosystem self-modulation in phytoplankton-dominated waters, and then to control the pollution input by ecological engineering. He has research experience of more than ten years on the control of nonpoint source pollution, eutrophication and cyanobacterial blooms in a plateau lake, Dianchi Lake, a hypereutrophic lake with frequent cyanobacterial blooms. He is experienced in project management and has been in charge of twelve national projects as chief-investigator with Chinese government organizations such as the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Natural Foundation of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is currently associate dean and an associate professor of Environmental Engineering at school of civil engineering of Iran University of Science and Technology in Tehran. His main research interests include  water quality assessments, physical-chemical treatment, waste management, soil and sediment pollution and remediation. He has published about 40 peer reviewed journal papers, two books and had several national and international conferences paper presentations.

 Biography :

Dr. Ong Soon An received his PhD in Environmental Engineering from Oita University (Japan) in 2006 sponsored by Monbukagakusho Scholarship. He obtained JSPS postdoctoral fellowship and worked as a researcher at Niigata University (Japan) from 2007 to 2009. Currently, he is working as a senior lecturer in School of Environmental Engineering, University Malaysia Perlis. He is serving as an editorial member of the Universal Journal of Environmental Research and Technology and reviewers in various international journals. He has published more than 20 journal articles with high impact factor.

 Biography :

Dr. Sarper Sarp has received his PhD in Environmental Engineering from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), South Korea, in 2011. He also has received his Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Ege University, Turkey. Currently he is working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at GIST. He also worked for Southern Nevada Water Authority and University of Nevada, Las Vegas as a research scholar and Part-time instructor, respectively. He has authored 14 research papers in the last four years. He is a reviewer of IWA conferences and Desalination and Water Treatment Journal.

Agricultural Engineering-Irrigation at Razi University, Kermanshah, Iran in 2006 and M.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering-Irrigation and Drainage at University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran in 2008.
