Dr. Jianye Ge ,Department of Forensics and Investigative Genetics at University of North Texas Health Science Center. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in computer science from Nankai University, China, and a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from the University of Cincinnati in 2009. His research relates primarily to forensic genetics, bioinformatics, and data mining, such as developing algorithms and interpretation guidelines for forensic genetics applications. He has published about 30 peer-reviewed papers (most in the top journals in relevant fields) and several book chapters. He has been invited as editorial board members of two scientific journals. The software programs he developed have been used by multiple Federal and State government agencies. Scott Reed was born in Jeannette, PA on September 30, 1961. He graduated from James Madison High School in 1980 and attended Virginia Tech where he received a BS in biochemistry in 1984.
Co-owner of Creekside Veterinary Associates. Managed AA Pet Emergency Services and Clay-Duval Pet Emergency during my tenure at both hospitals. I also initiated and managed all operations for AA Pet Spay/Neuter Clinic while it was in operation and was the employee manager at Mandarin Landing Animal Hospital.

Rick Wyant received his Master’s Degree in 1994, has been forensic scientist since 1995 and a reserve deputy since 2000. He currently supervises the forensic firearms unit at the Seattle crime laboratory and is court qualified in firearm/tool identification, crime scene analysis, less-lethal devices, and trajectory reconstruction. He has been analyzing evidence related to Electronic Control Devices (ECD) and Less Lethal impact munitions since 2001 and is one of the founding members of CRT LL.  Rick and CRT LL have taught these protocols to police agencies, scientists, students and attorneys all over the US and abroad including the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands and Canada.  He is a distinguished member of the Association of Firearm and Toolmark Examiners, an associate member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, a board member of the Scientific Working Group for Firearms and Toolmarks(SWGGUN), and the NIJ Technology Working Group (TWG) for less-lethal weapons.

 

Dr. Kate Barnes received her PhD in Forensic Science, entitled, Molecular and Biochemical Ecology of European Arthropods Found on Corpses from the University of Lincoln in 2009. Currently, she is working as a Lecturer in Forensic Biology at the University of Derby.She is a member of the European Association for Forensic Entomology, the Royal Entomological Society, the Society for General Microbiology, the Society for Experimental Biology and the British Ecological Society. She is a reviewer for the Journal of Microbiological Methods and Immunology and Medical Microbiology.

Her research interests are in forensic entomology, the decomposition sequence and ecological markers for post mortem interval, and the biomedical and veterinary application of novel antimicrobial products from carrion-feeding insects.
