Dr. Andrea Biscardi has received his PhD in Bologna University during the period of 1976-1982 . Currently, he is working as Senior Consultant General and Emrgency Surgeon in Emergency and Trauma Surgery department, Maggiore Hospital, Bologna, Italy. He has been Professor teaching Anatomy and Physiology for the School for Nursing of University of Modena in 1991-93. Consultant Surgeon in charge for the Mammotome project and biopsy procedures and clinical head of the Vacuum Assisted Breast Biopsy program from 1999 to 2001 at the Division of Surgery General Hospital of Sassuolo (MO). He has been co-authored of 23 articles published and indexed for MedLine (PUBMED). Since 2010 has been nominated by the University of Bologna as Tutor/Evaluating Professor in the discipline General Surgery in the Clinical Skills (Clinical Practice) Hospital session of the Medical Graduates for National Medical Licensing Exam. Since 2002 he is Instructor, member of the Faculty of the Trauma Surgery and Hands On Course, official course of the Italian Society of Surgeons for Specialist Surgeons, initiated by the Trauma Team of Maggiore Hospital, with two editions held annually.

Dr. Xin Chen has received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering in Case Western Reserve University in 2007. Currently,he is working as an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology in University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He did his postdoctoral research in Radiation Oncology in University of California San Francisco during the period of 2007-2008.His research has been focusing on image-guided therapy, treatment planning, and high intensity focused ultrasound. In the past five years, he has authored about 10 research articles as the first author.He is actively serving as a reviewer for several reputed journals and as an associate editor for ‘Medical Physics’.He is a full member of AAPM. In 2011, he received a research award from Focused Ultrasound Surgery Foundation for his research on the combination of focused ultrasound and radiation therapy.

Dr. Gulec received his medical degree at Ankara University College of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey. He trained in surgery in Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA, in nuclear medicine and nuclear oncology at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY, and in surgical oncology at the John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, CA. Dr. Gulec has started a comprehensive cancer program at the FIU/JNMC, integrating surgical and nuclear oncology. This unique model involves PET/CT-guided surgical treatment planning and radionuclide therapy of advanced cancers.

Dr. Andrew Scott Kennedy, co-medical director for Wake Radiology Oncology Services, and Director of the Liver Cancer Program in Cary, NC, USA. He is also currently adjunct associate professor of Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Department of Biomedical Engineering at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. He is an internationally renowned radiation oncologist specializing in gastrointestinal cancers, as well as cancers of the breast and lung. He has given numerous presentations on radiation therapy for the treatment of colorectal and liver cancer worldwide and was instrumental in reintroducing liver radiotherapy via microspheres back into the USA in August 2000. Since then he has published extensively on microsphere radiotherapy and is considered a key opinion leader and champion of this treatment approach. Dr. Kennedy developed the most commonly used protocol in the USA for use of microspheres and is the recipient of more than 1,000,000 dollars in research grants to further investigate this and other cancer treatments. Dr. Kennedy has also received grants from the University Of Maryland School of Medicine to study new treatments in GI and lung cancers using radiation combined with chemotherapy aided by molecular markers. He has written dozens of articles, book chapters and abstracts on preclinical, clinical and techniques in radiation oncology and has been invited to give presentations on radiation therapy for GI cancers and infusion of microspheres at the premier medical conferences in the United States, Asia and Europe. He is a leading instructor/proctor of microsphere therapy to medical teams worldwide. My research interests are: Lung cancer involving the stereotactic body radiation therapy both for the primary and metastatic disease along with the role of different radiation therapy techniques for the resectable and unresectable NSCLC. Also, I am part of the clinical trials involving the use of targeted agents in the treatment of LANSCLC with concurrent chemoradiation therapy at Fox Chase Cancer Center. I also developed a database of the treatment of Head and neck malignancies with IMRT at FCCC during my fellowship, presented data at several national meetings and published in peer/non-peer reviewed journals.  I also developed a database on ocular lymphoma and extra-nodal lymphoma and published/presented my work at different meetings. As a junior faculty at FCCC, I developed a database on the treatment outcomes for the Merkel Cell Carcinoma and presented abstracts in collaboration with the multispeciality teams at FCCC. Presently, I am developing a database on the SBRT outcomes for both the primary and metastatic lung cancer.  I am adjusted merit awards at national meetings for the H&N, Lymphoma presentations.

Heng Li is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Physics at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He received his PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Virginia in 2006. He was a postdoctoral fellow from 2006 to 2008 and therapeutic physics resident from 2008 to 2010 at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Li has extensive experience in various imaging modality and their clinical applications, and is currently actively involved in the clinical use, research and development of proton radiotherapy. He is an ABR certified Medical Physicist in Radiological Therapeutic Physics, member of AAPM and ASTRO, and reviewer of a number of peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Yunfeng Cui received his Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Tsinghua University, China. He worked as a research fellow for three years at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York upon his graduation. He is now working at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia as a research assistant, at the Department of Radiation Oncology, Division of Medical Physics.

Yunfeng Cui′s primary research interest includes image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), medical image processing, and functional imaging with positron emission tomography (PET).

Seckin O. Ulualp, M.D., is an otolaryngologist who is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, co-director of Pediatric Airway and Swallowing Disorders Program.  Dr. Ulualp is an author and co-author of over 100 peer-reviewed and invited manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations.

Dr. Li is currently an instructor in the Department of Radiation Oncology, Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Li obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida, focusing on the development of advanced signal processing methods for human electroencephalography (EEG - brain signal) analysis. He did his postdoctoral research at UCSD, in the field of medical physics and radiation therapy. His postdoctoral work primarily focused on the development of advanced motion management techniques for lung cancer radiotherapy. In 2011, Dr. Li joined the Department of Radiation Oncology at Stanford University, expanding his research areas to image-guided and adaptive radiation therapy.

Associate Professor Jagat Kanwar, Group Leader “Nanomedicine-Laboratory of Immunology and Molecular Biomedical Research” working in Deakin University, Australia. He did his PhD in 1993 from PGIMER, Chandigarh, India and worked as a Senior Scientist in The Auckland University, New Zealand for more than 10 years. He has a national and international reputation in investigating fundamental and applied molecular aspects of cancer and chronic inflammation. His research is also focused on miRNA, aptamer, locked nucleic acid (LNA) LNA-modified chimeric aptamers-siRNA conjugates, and immunoliposomes technology and disease targeted drug discovery. His research combines Immunology with state of the art and cutting edge techniques in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Nanobiotechnology and visualization to investigate the pathways in which key molecules are regulated in both normal and disease states. He designed nanocarriers for applications in vaccines, immunotherapy, and drug delivery of antigens immunostimulatory ligands to dendritic cells and subsequent stimuli to T- lymphocytes, B-lymphocytes and TH17 cells.
