Jiatong Zhuo is a professor and deputy director of Guangxi Autonomous Region Center for Disease Control and Prevention. He has spent most of his scientific carrier in the children vaccine preventable disease. Under his effort, Guangxi autonomous Region reached the goal of polio free in 2000. He created this new strategy to select high risk county with the interval of inter-epidemics of historic surveillance data and carrying mass campaign in the sub-tropic area after his finished his public health policy/management study in Emory in 1998 and make the measles controlled in the forefront of China as well as in the South east of Asia. Dr Reitz obtained his PhD in 1970 from the Department of Biochemistry at Purdue University His graduate work in the field of enzymology was supervised by Professor Victor Rodwell a recognized scholar in studies of enzymes of amino acid catabolism Dr Reitz trained as a postdoctoral fellow at the Boston Biomedical Research Institute in the laboratory of Dr Rao Sanadi in the field of tRNA and tRNA aminoacyl synthetases He was recruited as a staff scientist to Bionetics Research Laboratory in 1971 as part of the laboratory group of Dr Robert Gallo and joined him at NIH in 1976 He received tenure in 1984 became Head of the Molecular Biology of Hematopoietic Cells Section in 1992 and Acting Chief of the Laboratory of Tumor Cell Biology in 1995 when Dr Gallo left to found the IHV Dr Reitz was recruited to the IHV as a tenure track Associate Professor and Associate Director of the Basic Science Division in February 1996 and became Professor with full tenure in 1998 His expertise is in the fields of molecular biology and virology especially retroviruses and herpesviruses He is focused on host cellvirus interactions and their effects on immunopathology and carcinogenesis at the level of regulation of signaling and gene expression

Dr Zhiwei Chen has been the Director of AIDS Institute at the University of Hong Kong Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine since 2007 He received his PhD from the New York University in 1996 He then became a postdoctoral fellow a research scientist and subsequently a Staff Investigator and an Aaron Diamond Assistant Professor at the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center of the Rockefeller University His research work defined the origin of HIV2 in feral sooty mangabeys and CCR5 as the dominant entry coreceptor of various nonhuman primate lentiviruses He was a guest professor at Wuhan University between 2003 and 2007 and has been a guest professor at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences since 2007 and at Nanjing University since 2009 Dr Chen has published over sixty research articles in peerreviewed international journals and currently serves as an editorial board member for three international journals He is a member of the Advisory Council on AIDS appointed by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and an executive committee member of the China AIDS Vaccine Initiative CAVI He was a recipient of research awards from the Charles H Revson/Norman and Rosita Winston Foundation and the American Foundation for AIDS Research

Dr. Chu obtained his PhD in Medical Virology from the National University of Singapore NUS Dr Chu was awarded the prestigious Singapore Millennium Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2006 Subsequently Dr Chu continued his postdoctoral training at the Harvard Medical School where he has developed a novel high throughput antiviral drugs screening platform for dengue virus In 2007 Dr Chu has received the distinguished Lee Kuan Yew fellowship and the America Society of Microbiology Scientific Achievement Award ICAAC Young Investigator Award in year 2008 Dr Chu is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine National University of Singapore Dr Chu’s research laboratory is actively engaged in the application of genomewide gene silencing technology molecular virology bioimaging and proteomics techniques to study the interaction between host factors and viral components during virus replication focusing especially on Dengue virus Enteroviruses and Chikugunya virus By understanding the replication processes of these pathogenic viruses Dr Chu hopes to develop effective antiviral strategies against these viruses Since 2001 Dr Chu has published over 30 international peerreviewed scientific publications book chapters and over 80 conference papers A number of these scientific papers are published in prestigious journals including Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences PNAS Journal of Biological Chemistry JBC and Journal of Virology Dr Chu is currently serving as the associate editor and reviewer for a number of peerreviewed journals in area of medical virology and antiviral strategies Two US patents have also been generated from his current research
