Dr Krishnaswamy Jayachandran is Associate Professor of soil microbiology/soil science in the Department of Earth and Environment at Florida International University Dr Jayachandran received his PhD in Plant Pathology with specialization in soil microbiology and soil science from Kansas State University in 1991 and a master’s degree in agricultural microbiology in 1983 from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Coimbatore IndiaHe authored about 55 peer reviewed publications in Science Citation Index Journals

Dr Enrique Reyes is the principal investigator for the Coastal Environmental Modeling research area of the RENCI at ECU Center for Coastal Systems Informatics and Modeling His academic experience lies in largescale approaches to ecosystem analysis His overarching interest is how coastal areas respond to both natural and manmade impacts using simulation modeling as a research tool He has led several multidisciplinary teams in the development of ecosystem models integrating landscape ecology to assess different approaches to coastal resource management Dr Reyes has been active in several modeling efforts ranging from plant productivity and fish migration to landscape simulation of processes in wetlands and tropical watersheds

Tomas M Iliffe is a Professor of Marine Biology at Texas AM University at Galveston TAMUG where he teaches courses in Biospeleology Scientific Diving and Tropical Marine Ecology Prior to coming to TAMUG in 1989 Tom worked for 11 years as a Research Scientist at the Bermuda Biological Station It was in Bermuda that he became interested in marine cave biology On this relatively small low lying island numerous limestone caves are found close to the sea By diving in the tidal saltwater pools of these caves Tom discovered an unprecedented variety of crustaceans and other marine animals that are specially adapted to the cave environment Tom has led expeditions worldwide to study and collect animals from underwater caves in the Atlantic Mediterranean and IndoPacific Diving explorations of such caves has resulted in the discovery of 168 new species 55 new genera 7 new families and 3 new orders Currently Tom and his graduate students are conducting studies of marine caves in the Bahamas Bermuda and Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico

Dr Haiwei Luo has completed his MS in the University of South Carolina during the period of 2006 2008 with a focus on marine microbial ecology and completed his PhD in the University of South Carolina during the period of 2008 2010 with a focus on molecular evolution Currently he is working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the University of Georgia

Jamie Kneitel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at California State University, Sacramento. He received a B.A. from University of California, Santa Cruz, a M.Sc. from California State University, Northridge, and a Ph.D. from Florida State University.  Jamie spent 2 years as the Tyson Postdoctoral Fellow at Washington University in St. Louis and has been at CSU Sacramento since 2004.  He has authored more than 20 articles/book chapters and 25 conference presentations.  He has been a reviewer for 23 journals and is a member of the Ecological Society of America, American Society of Naturalists, and the California Botanical Society.

He received B.S., (1983) and M.S., (1985) in Agronomy and Soils from Auburn University, Ph.D., (1989) in Agronomy and Soils from University of Illinois. Allen Torbert is a GS-14 Lead Scientist, USDA-ARS Auburn, AL.He received Research Product Development Team Award, US Army Corps of Engineers - 2001, Construction Engineering Research Laboratory.

Barbara Hayford is Associate Professor of Life Sciences and Director of the A. Jewell Schock Museum of Natural History at Wayne State College, Nebraska.  She received a Ph.D. in Entomology from the University of Kansas, Lawrence KS in 1998, an M.Sc. in Applied Natural Science from the University of Southern Colorado, Pueblo in 1993 and a B.Sc. in Biology and English from Metropolitan State College, Denver, CO in 1987.  Hayford served as a postdoc and then the Assistant Director of the Central Plains Center for Bioassessment at the Kansas Biological Survey in Lawrence, KS for 2 years from 1998-2000, served at Wayne State College from 2000-2004 and 2007 to the present.  She has authored 21 peer-reviewed articles and technical reports and 27 conference presentations. Hayford is a member of the North American Benthological Society, American Society for Limnology and Oceanography, Society for Conservation Biology and the Kansas Entomological Society.
