Dr Anahit Penesyan earned her PhD at the University of New South Wales and currently is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences and the Centre for Marine BioInnovation at the University of New South Wales Australia Dr Penesyan is an author of several publications in highly ranked international journals as well as served as a reviewer of peerreviewed journals in the area of environmental biotechnology

Maki Teramoto is a lecturer at Kochi University, Japan. She obtained her Ph.D. at Ochanomizu University (Tokyo) in 2002 while in Marine Biotechnology Institute (MBI; Iwate, Japan). Her publication in 2001 (J. Bacteriol. 183: 4227-4234) was highly evaluated by a chief editor of a medical journal, “Medical Science Monitor”, and has served as the journal’s reviewer board member since 2001. She is assigned as an editorial board member of a new journal “Blue Biotechnology Journal” (2011-). She has been a lecturer at Yokohama City University. She has published many research papers, and is an author of a couple of book’s chapters. After leaving MBI, she stayed in University of New South Wales (UNSW; Sydney), National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE, Japan), and National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST, Japan), before moved to Kochi University.   

Dr Liu received PhD degree in Plant Molecular Genetics from the University of Illinois UrbanaChampaign UIUC in 1994 Her postdoctoral research focused in biotechnology and genetic engineering Dr Liu has been a research molecular biologist at USDAARSNCAUR since 2002 Dr Liu has been recognized for genetic manipulations of Grampositive lactic acid bacteria for conversion of biomass to biofuels and valueadded products The Gram positive promoter shuttle vectors and strains constructed by Dr Liu were sought after by peers outside ARS including South Korea Netherlands and China resulting in 12 Material Transfer Agreements Dr Liu has authored and coauthored more than 45 publications and more than 40 presentations including invited presentations in Czech Republic Taiwan and Melbourne Australia Dr Liu has authored and coauthored three invited book chapters one pending US patent Dr Liu served as adhoc proposal reviewer for the New Directions Research Program of The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs OMAFRA for The Consortium for Plant Biotechnology Research CPBR and for Ohio Plant Biotechnology Consortium OPBC Dr Liu served as Merit Review Panel for DOE bioenergy proposals Dr Liu also served as reviewer of numerous peerreviewed journals in the area of biotechnology molecular biology and genetic engineering

Michael Goldfeld is a Director or Corporate Research at the Advanced Biocatalyrics Corporation Irvine CA USA He earned his PhD and DSc degrees in biophysical chemistry from the Institute of Chemical Physics Russian Academy of Sciences Moscow He has published over 120 research papers and authored a monograph several review papers and patents He held senior research and professorial positions and taught various chemistry courses at the college and postgraduate level for over 20 years He served as a reviewer of manuscripts for scientific journals in the areas of physical chemistry biophysics and surface science and edited several books and paper collections

Professor Berrin Tansel has received her PhD in environmental engineering from University of WisconsinMadison in 1985 Currently she is a professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Florida International University FIU in Miami Florida Before joining FIU Dr Tansel was a project manager at Massachusetts Water Resources Authority She has also worked at the Center for Environmental Management at Tufts University She has authored over 200 research papers reports and professional practice publications Dr Tansel is an elected Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers ASCE and elected Diplomate of American Academy of Water Resources Engineers She is a member of Water Environment Federation Environmental and Water Resources Institute of ASCE and Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors She is the associate editor of Journal of Environmental Management and serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Water Air Soil Pollution and Recent Patents on Chemical Engineering

Dr Yinjie Tang is an assistant professor in Department of Energy Environmental and Chemical Engineering at Washington University USA He earned his PhD at University of Washington 2004 Seattle He worked as a postdoctoral fellow / project scientist at the University of CaliforniaBerkeley/Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory 2004~2008 before he joined Washington University 2008 He has published ~30 peerreviewed papers in last five years He is teaching both chemical engineering and biochemical engineering courses He served as a reviewer of several international journals in the area of bioengineering kinetic modeling environmental technology toxicology and microbiology He received several national awards like NSF CAREER Award 2010 and Ralph E Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award 2010

Dr Subramanian has received his PhD in Environmental Engineering from Oklahoma State University at Stillwater and MS in Environmental Engineering from the University of Oklahoma at Norman Currently he is working as a Senior Process Engineer in Municipal and Environmental Engineering Department at Dewberry in Fairfax Virginia He has over 21 years of wide range of professional experience in environmental engineering including the planning detailed design permitting construction management and startup of wastewater treatment facilities biosolids processing facilities sewage pumping stations sewer collection systems and water distribution systems as well as focused wastewater treatment process experience including process design and evaluation of biological treatment systems sequencing batch reactors SBR and membrane bioreactors MBR Dr Subramanian is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Oklahoma Virginia and Maryland and a Board Certified Environmental Engineer with the American Academy of Environmental Engineers He is serving on several technical committees including Water Environment Federation American Academy of Environmental Engineers and National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying He has published several papers in the area of wastewater treatment GHG emissions and sustainability and is serving as a reviewer with Water Environment Federation

Received his Ph.D. from Department of Agricultural Chemistry, The University of Tokyo. He is presently working as Professor in Department of Biological Science, Sungkyunkwan University. He served as a Editorial Board Member of various journals like Molecules and Cells.He acted as a Organizer, Chairman of Bomun Conference Committee, KSBMB. He acted as  Secretary for International Affairs, Korean Society for Glycoscience. 

A Researcher at Polytechnic Institute of New York University, Brooklyn and also working as a Senior Research Scientist at SyntheZyme LLC, Brooklyn, New York. Thavasi received his M.Phil and Ph.D degree in Marine Microbiology (Microbial Biosurfactants) from Center of Advanced Study in Marine Biology, Annamalai University, India. His research interests are microbial biosurfactants, bioemulsifiers, biodispersants and biosurfactant derived biopesticides. To his credit, Thavasi has published 13 research articles in refereed journals, written 3 chapters in books and presented 8 papers in seminar/conferences. He has been awarded with 3 NSF SBIR grants for his biopesticide research. His current and future research plans are to find microbially produced “green chemicals” to replace toxic chemicals that are in practice for various environmental and medical applications.
