Psychiatric Epidemology is a sub-field of epidemology which deals with the concept, etiology and prevalence of mental illness in a society. Most characteristics , attitude of people is often influenced by the society and hence a certain population has some features in common, thus leading the certain type of psychiatric diseases common to a population and if this is detection the population can be treated on the whole. Psychiatric Epidemology is comparitively a new field epidemology which is gaining attention and plenty research is still being carried out. A journal is a periodical publication intended to further progress of science, usually by reporting new research. Most journals are highly specialized, although some of the oldest journals publish articles, reviews, editorials, short communications, letters, and scientific papers across a wide range of scientific fields. Journals contain articles that peer reviewed, in an attempt to ensure that articles meet the journal's standards of quality, and scientific validity. Each such journal article becomes part of the permanent scientific record.
