My name is Alexandros Repanas and I was born in Kozani, Greece in 1988. I graduated from the School of Pharmacy, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, acquiring a Diploma degree (B.sc. & M.sc., 5 years, 300 ECTS) at 2010. My diploma thesis with title “Chalcones in Cancer: Understanding their role in terms of QSAR”, (Mini Reviews in Medicinal Chemistry 2013;13:952-970) was supervised by Prof. Dimitra Hadjipavlou-Litina. Afterwards, I acquired my second MSc. degree in Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies, from the Department of Physics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. My master thesis with title “Synthesis of biodegradable nanoparticles for drug delivery” was supervised by Prof. Stergios Logothetidis. I am currently a PhD candidate under the supervision of Prof. Birgit Glasmacher in the Institute for Multiphase Processes, Leibniz University Hannover, Germany. I am defending my thesis the upcoming January. My fields of interest are biomaterials for tissue engineering and drug delivery applications and electrospinning.
