Journal of Cancer Science and Therapy is supporting 5th World congress on Cancer Therapy which is going to be held during September 28-30, 2015, at Atlanta, USA. The theme of the conference is “Emerging Therapeutic advances in cancer therapy”.

OMICS Group International is a leading Open Access publisher that publishes more than 700 leading-edge peer reviewed Open Access Journals and organizes over 1000 International Conferences globally with the support of nearly 1000 International Societies. OMICS Publishing Group journals cater to over 10 million readers with the support of 50000 eminent personalities as editorial board members.

Cancer therapy

Cancer Therapy is a process of treating the cancer through various methods. Few treatment procedures like surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormonal therapy, and targeted therapy (including immunotherapy) can be used to treat cancer. The location of treatment of cancer depends on the type of tumor.

Ovarian cancer prognosis

Ovarian cancer starts in ovary and may spread to lining of abdomen, lungs, liver etc. Prognosis of ovarian cancer is poor because the cancer metastasizes early and it is not properly diagnosed until the disease is advanced. The survival rates vary with the stage and grade of the cancer

Bone marrow Cancer Survival

Bone cancer is neoplasm of bone. The survival for bone cancers has improved in recent years because of new and better treatments. For osteosarcomas and Ewing sarcomas that are localized, the five-year survival rate ishigh. If it has spread to distant parts of the body, the five-year survival rate is about 15 to 30 percent. If it has spread only to the lungs, the five-year survival rate in Ewing sarcoma is slightly better than in osteosarcoma

Kidney cancer prognosis

Renal cancer or kidney cancer is the cancer of kidneys. Its risk factors include smoking, obesity and use of NSAIDS. Prognosis depends on type and stage of cancer, patient’s medical history. Tumors confined to the kidney have a better prognosis than tumors that have spread outside the kidney. People with elevated blood calcium, low RBC count have poor prognosis

Bone cancer stages

The stage of cancer is important when deciding on treatment. The most commonly used staging system for bone cancer. The tests and scans you have when diagnosing your cancer may give some information about the stage.

Cancer vaccine

Cancer vaccine is a vaccine which either treats existing cancer or prevents development of a cancer. Vaccines that treat existing cancer are known as therapeutic cancer vaccines.

Thyroid cancer

Thyroid cancer is three times more common in women than in men. Four major types of thyroid cancer: papillary, follicular, medullary, and anaplastic. Cause of thyroid cancer is unknown, but certain risk factors have been identified and include a family history of goiter, exposure to high levels of radiation, and certain hereditary syndromes

Lungs cancer cure

Lungs Cancer is known as bronchogenic carcinoma which is classified as small cell lungs cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. Classification is based on the microscopic appearance of tumor cells.

Lymph node cancer

Lymphoma is the cancer of lymphatic system. It includes lymph nodes and lymph vessels. It can either be Hodgkin’s lymphoma or Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. It is characterized by swollen lymph nodes (lymphadenopathy), fever and weight loss. It is diagnosed by lymph node biopsy and radiological tests. It can be treated by surgery, chemotherapy or radiation therapy or using combination of both.

Brain tumor treatment

Treatment of brain tumor depends on a number of factors like location, type and size of the tumor, age and health of the patient. Treatment options include surgery (mostly preferred), radiation therapy, chemotherapy and targeted therapy. Chemotherapy is given orally, intravenous or through wafers delivered to brain. Commonly used drugs include vincristine, lomustine, carmustine, procarbazine, temozolomide

Anti-cancer drugs

Anti-cancer drugs are also called anti-neoplastic agents or chemotherapeutic agents. They act upon rapidly dividing cancer cells and destroy them. They can be used alone (single-drug therapy) or several at once (combination therapy). Various kinds of anti-cancer drugs are alkylating agents (cisplatin, chlorambucil, procarbazine, carmustine etc.), antimetabolites (methotrexate, cytarabine, gemcitabine etc.), anti-microtubule agents (vinblastine, paclitaxel etc.), topoisomerase inhibitors (etoposide, doxorubicin etc.), cytotoxic agents (bleomycin, mitomycin etc.). They have severe adverse effects like hair loss, nausea and vomiting, anemia etc.

Colon cancer

Colon cancer is a disease in which malignant type cancer cells form in the tissues of the colon. Different diagnosis and treatment that examines the colon and rectum are used to detect (find) and diagnose colon cancer.

Esophageal cancer

Esophageal cancer which is also known as oesophageal cancer arise from the esophagus—the food pipe that runs between the throat and the stomach. Two main sub-types of the disease are esophageal squamous-cell carcinoma and esophageal adenocarcinoma.

Testicular cancer

Testicular cancer is type of cancer which develops in one or both testicles in young men, but it can happen to older men as well. Research and reviews has revealed it is highly treatable and usually curable type of cancer.

Pancreas cancer

Pancreatic cancer occurs when the cells in pancreas begin to multiply out of control and form a mass. Signs and symptoms of the most common form of pancreatic cancer may include loss of appetite, yellow skin, abdominal or back pain, unexplained weight loss, light-colored stools, dark urine.

Sarccoma cancer

A sarcoma is a rare kind of cancer which are different from the much more common carcinomas because they happen in a different kind of tissues. These tumors are most common in the bones, muscles, tendons, cartilage, and blood vessels, nerves, fat, of your arms and legs, and they can happen anywhere

Advances in alternative lung cancer treatment

Alternative treatments can be used along with standard therapy to relieve symptoms and side effects of lung cancer. They include acupuncture, aromatherapy, massage, hypnosis, yoga etc. They mostly provide relief from pain, anxiety, nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy

Oseophagus cancer

Oseophagus helps move food from the mouth to the stomach. It is composed of a mucosal lining, submucosa, muscle tissues and an outer covering layer of cells called the adventitia above the diaphragm. Side effects of treatment for esophageal cancer may include the need for supportive care to control pain, weight loss, infections such as pneumonia, difficulty in swallowing

Cancer science

Cancer Science is study of cancer cells that causes tumor. This can be replaced by the normal tissue and circulates through other tissues which are called metastasis. Novel research in cancer brings advancement in drug research and development, which enhances the scientific knowledge

Lung tumor

Lung tumors are neoplastic tumors of the lung. Lung cancer, also known as carcinoma of the lung or pulmonary carcinoma, is a malignant lung tumor characterized by uncontrolled cell growth in tissues of the lung. Most of the cancers that start in the lung, known as primary lung cancers, are carcinomas that derive from epithelial cells.

*Unofficial 2014 Impact Factor was established by dividing the number of articles published in 2012 and 2013 with the number of times they are cited in 2014 based on Google search and the Scholar Citation Index database. If 'X' is the total number of articles published in 2012 and 2013, and 'Y' is the number of times these articles were cited in indexed journals during 2014 than, impact factor = Y/X
