Dermatology is a discipline of medical science that deals with the skin, dermal diseases and associated treatment regime. Clinical practises in relation to dermatology embrace several sub disciplines including dermatitis, cosmetic dermatology, dermatopathology, immunodermatology, pediatric dermatology, cutaneous lymphoma, lesions, melanoma, blisters etc. The increase environmental concerns, radiations are directly or indirectly impacting the different layers of skin. Owing to the importance of each sub discipline the Journal of Clinical & Experimental Dermatology Research renders a common platform for the discussion of various important issues which may be helpful for the clinicians, medical practitioners, patients, researchers, faculty members and students.

The Journal of Clinical & Experimental Dermatology Research is an open access, peer-reviewed, academic journal covering diversified aspects within the discipline containing disease conditions such as oral pemphigus vulgaris, oral pemphigoid, sports associated dermal diseases such as exercise induced vasculitis, golfers vasculitis, chronic folliculitis, bullous pemphigoid, median raphe cyst, acral melanoma, trichostasis spinulosa, angiosarcomas (AS), pilomatrix carcinoma, psoriasis, lupus miliaris disseminatus faciei (LMDF). Different treatment regime, such as, subcutaneous testosterone, zinc and hair loss etc. will be considered under the scope of the journal. Best quality articles are expected to maintain the standard of the journal and to achieve dermatology Journals high impact factor. This journal renders an excellent platform for the authors and readers to share important scientific information comprehensively on the relevant topics in the form of original articles, review articles, case reports, short communications, etc.

Journal of Clinical & Experimental Dermatology Research follows Editorial Manager System for quality in peer review process. Editorial Manager is an online manuscript submission, review and tracking systems used by most of the best open access journals. Authors may submit their valuable contributions through the Editor Manager System link provided in this Journal site. As per the Journal policy peer review process will follow the manuscript submission where comments of at least two referees are important to conclude the review process.

Skin and Immune System

Skin acts as a physical barrier and provides protection against foreign invaders. Skin is characterised as primary immune system as they are considered to be a unit specialised cells of the body system. Some of these cells observe invasion by foreign proteins, like microorganism and viruses, while different cells have the capability of destroying and removing such material.

Dermoscopy is the examination of skin lesions with a dermatoscope. This is consist of a magnifier typically x10, a non-polarised light source, a transparent plate and a liquid medium between the instrument and the skin, and permit the inspection of skin lesions unrestricted by skin surface reflections. Modern dermatoscopes uses the liquid medium instead of using polarised light to cancel out skin surface reflections.

Major Disease Statistics

*Unofficial 2015 Journal Impact Factor was established by dividing the number of articles published in 2013 and 2014 with the number of times they are cited in 2015 based on Google search and the Scholar Citation Index database. If 'X' is the total number of articles published in 2013 and 2014, and 'Y' is the number of times these articles were cited in indexed journals during 2015 then, impact factor = Y/X
