Hepatitis Care and Cure

Treatment of Hepatitis is on the cutting edge of medicine. Hepatitis B virus infection (HBV) has been recognized as a major health problem worldwide and Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is the most common chronic blood borne infection in the United States. Viral hepatitis treatment depends on how active the virus is in your body. Viral hepatitis is the most common cause of hepatitis worldwide. Other causes of non-viral hepatitis include alcoholic hepatitis and autoimmune hepatitis.

Viral hepatitis refers to infections caused by viruses that directly attack the liver. Chronic cases of viral hepatitis can lead to life-threatening liver cirrhosis (or scarring), liver failure and liver cancer. In the United States, viral hepatitis is most commonly caused by hepatitis A virus (HAV), hepatitis B virus (HBV), and hepatitis C virus (HCV). These 3 viruses can all result in acute disease with symptoms of nausea, abdominal pain, fatigue, malaise, and jaundice.
