Paediatrics Cardiac Surgery

Heart surgery in children is done to repair heart defects a child is born with (congenital heart defects) and heart diseases a child gets after birth that need surgery. The surgery is needed for the child's wellbeing. The laryngeal mask airway (LMA) is a relatively recent development that fills the gap in airway management between endotracheal intubation and the use of a face mask. Spinal and epidural anaesthesia for paediatric surgery are different from the adult anaesthesia used. Cardiothoracic conference series 2016 aims to discuss more about the latest developments in the paediatric cardiac surgery.Tissue-engineered tracheal replacement is been under use as a paediatric cardiac surgery. Laryngeal mask airway is a recent development.

The laryngeal mask airway (LMA) is a relatively recent development that fills the gap in airway management between endotracheal intubation and the use of a face mask. Stem-cell-based, tissue engineered transplants might offer new therapeutic options for patients, including children, with failing organs. Moderate and severe postoperative pain can and should be prevented or controlled safely and effectively in all children whatever their age, severity of illness, or surgical procedure.
