Sexual Psychiatric Disorders

Proper sexual functioning is one of the most important components of quality of life and of maintaining a satisfying intimate relation. Sexual dysfunction is extensive among Geriatric Psychiatry patients and may be related to psychopathology. Most commonly seen dysfunction in women is decrease in sexual desire or loss of libido that is nearly about 22% and amongst men 21% in which the prevalence sexual dysfunction is seen 40% among people of 40 or more years of age and 70% among those of 70 years or above and 52% aged 40 to 70 years, experience some degree of Erectile Dysfunction (ED) caused by psychiatric disorders and first-generation antipsychotics.
