Alfred N Fonteh

Biography

Dr. Fonteh has spent over 20 years exploring the roles of lipids and proteins in diseases. Dr. Fonteh earned his B.Sc. in Biochemistry with Chemistry from the University of London, M.Sc. in Medicinal Chemistry from Loughborough University of Technology, and his PhD in Biochemistry from the School of Pharmacy, University of London. Dr. Fonteh completed postdoctoral studies at the Johns Hopkins University before moving to Wake Forest University School of Medicine as a Research Associate. He was promoted to Research Instructor of Medicine and subsequently Research Assistant Professor in Pulmonary and Critical Care. Dr. Fonteh is presently a Senior Biochemist/Research Director of the Molecular Neurology Program at the Huntington Medical Research Institutes (HMRI), Pasadena, CA. Dr. Fonteh’s research has been funded by the NIH, EPA and private foundations.  He is the author of 60 peer-reviewed articles, 67 abstracts, 11 book chapters, and edited a book and a Disease Marker publication.
