Biography

Anfal, Arshi,M 1974–, Indian soil microbiologist , Ph.D. ,ISM- TMB Univ.India, 2007. Scientist at DRDO. Since 2008. Prior to doctoral qualification, completed his Master’s degree 2000 in Botany with specialization in Ecology and Environmental Biology. He contributed about six years in teaching to Post Graduate Students. He also have about fourteen years R&D experience in three major National Research Laboratories to his credit viz-Central Fuel Research Institute CFRI , Central Mining Research Institute CMRI -CSIR ,ISM-Dhanbad now IIT, Dhanbad. His Ph.D. work was in the field of Soil microbiology, and in the year 2008 had joined DRDO at DIBER project site Secunderabad, (Hyderabad). Where he’d leaded a team individually in the recent area of Bio-fuel/ Bio-diesel from Jatropha curcas seeds in a National Biodiesel Mission of Govt. of India. He’s working in various collaborative research project with Amity University, LPU ,INMAS, DIHAR, (under CARS/DRDO funded project) on Development of approaches for Radioprotection and therapy under which he 's developing prophylactic and curative formulation for human application against radiation. He’s also making effort for herbal preparation from leaves of Hippophae rhamnoides L. family Elaeagnaceae (common name Seabuckthorn) could offer more than 90% protection against lethal dose of 60Co-gamma-radiation (10 Gy) in the experimental animals. He is also working on Disinfectant/De-contamination agent viz- HoCl : Is for decontamination and decorporating agents, life saving products for medical emergency. Its a disinfectant that is approved as an antiseptic in USA-UK but not in India. He has also worked at the Office of Director General of Life Sciences (DGLS, DRDO-HQ,) at New Delhi, India provides pre-sanction proposal preparation assistance and sponsors compliance assurance through the Technical Support, as well as provides post-sanctioned projects monitoring, administration and tracking of project resources and deliverables. Currently he’s working on Bio-defence/ Agro-terrorism programme, the objective is to improve plant immunity through soil microbes and to develop a microbial consortia to provide protection, prevention against BW agents.
