Dr. Arunachalam Muthaiyan received his Ph.D. in Microbiology from University of Madras, India. He is currently working as a Senior Associate Researcher in the Center for Food Safety – Department of Food Science, University of Arkansas. His research focuses on antibiotic resistance mechanism of S. aureus, mode of action of antibiotics, natural antimicrobials, molecular survival mechanism of foodborne pathogens Listeria and Salmonella, and Probiotics and Prebiotics. He has been serving as a reviewer for Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, BMC Genomics, BMC Microbiology, Microbiological Research, International Journal of Medical Microbiology, International Journal of Food Microbiology, Bioresource Technology and also served as a grant proposal reviewer for Health Research Board, Ireland, and Kentucky Science and Engineering Foundation.
