My research utilizes high throughput screening strategies to identify novel therapeutic and diagnostic targets in ovarian cancer and uterine papillary serous carcinoma (UPSC). I focus primarily on the role of microRNAs which are small, noncoding RNA transcripts that play a critical role in regulating diverse patterns of gene expression. In conjunction with Dr. Matthew L. Anderson, MD, PhD at Baylor College of Medicine, we are currently dissecting the roles of microRNAs identified in regulating ovarian cancer and UPSC growth and metastasis. These insights will be used to develop novel treatment strategies for these deadly diseases.
