Dr. Raval did his undergraduate and medical school training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, during which time he was a Howard Holderness Distinguished Medical Scholar. He proceeded to complete a Surgery internship and Clinical Pathology residency at the University of Pittsburgh, and followed this with Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine fellowship training at the joint program between the University of Pittsburgh and The Institute for Transfusion Medicine. Dr. Raval joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Pathology in Pittsburgh for one year before moving back to the University of North Carolina where he is currently an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Medical Director of Therapeutic Apheresis.
