Katherine A. Hutcheson, PhD, joined the department in November 2010 as assistant professor in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Hutcheson graduated magna cum laude from Baylor University. She earned a master of science in communication sciences and disorders at Baylor and then attained a PhD in epidemiology, with a minor in biostatistics and behavioral science, from The University of Texas School of Public Health.
Dr. Hutcheson has authored 23 peer-reviewed and invited articles. She is the recipient of the UT Health Innovation for Cancer Prevention Research Fellowship Award, which was recently renewed and supports her work on late effects in head and neck cancer survivors.
Her clinical interests include functional outcomes and swallowing in patients with head and neck cancer.
