Biography

She earned her PhD in 2004 and M.S. in 2002 from University of Florida University; as a research assistant, she further shaped her engineering studies by working with a neurosurgeon on vascular mechanics. Dr. Gu joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering in Spring 2009. Prior to coming to UNL, she was an assistant professor at the SD School of Mines & Technology. She has authored about publications in high ranked journals and extensive citations.

Research Interest

Computational mechanics with experimental validation; Multi-scale modeling; Fluid-structure interaction; Material characterization; Traumatic brain injury; Vascular mechanics including vascular remodeling, mechanism of in-stent restenosis and atherosclerosis and minimally invasive medical device design.
