Biography

Lucian Lozonschi, MD is Chief of Cardiac Surgery at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison Wisconsin - one of the very few VA hospitals that serve as a regional heart transplant centers in the US. He is Director of Education and Associate program director at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He is also Director of Minimally Invasive & Robotic Cardiac Surgery in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at University of Wisconsin Hospital. He has received his medical degree from G.T. Popa School of Medicine in Romania, completed his residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, Montefiore-Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Ohio State University. He is actively involved in the heart transplantation and mechanical assist device program at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He serves as a reviewer for reputable clinical as well as basic science journals
