Michael H Davidson MD is a Clinical Professor at the University of Chicago where he also serves as Director of Preventive Cardiology and Associate Vice Chairman for Continuing Medical Education In addition he is Founder President and Chief Executive Officer of the Chicago Center for Clinical Research currently part of Radiant Research Dr Davidson earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus He then fulfilled his residency in internal medicine at RushPresbyterianSt Luke′s Medical Center in Chicago where he later completed a fellowship in cardiologyAn active researcher Dr Davidson′s clinical research background encompasses both pharmaceutical and nutritional clinical trials His extensive research on statins novel lipidlowering drugs and non pharmacologic risk factor reduction has established him as a key opinion leader in this area A prolific author and lecturer on lipid disorders nutrition and atherosclerosis Dr Davidson has coordinated more than 1000 clinical trials in areas of preventive cardiology and published more than 250 articles for leading medical journals and has written 3 books on Lipidology Dr Davidson is boardcertified in internal medicine cardiology and clinical lipidology He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Chest Physicians In addition he is President 20092010 of the National Lipid Association He was named in The Best Doctors in America 20032010 and was named Father of the Year by the American Diabetes Association 2010.
