Biography

Nam H Dang, MD, PhD is Professor of Medicine, Deputy Chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Medicine, University of Florida. He is also Director of the University of Florida Shands Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office. He completed his BA (magna cum laude) in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University (1985). He received his PhD in Immunology from Harvard University (1991) and his MD (magna cum laude) from Harvard Medical School (1992). He performed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Massachusetts, General Hospital, and his fellowship in Medical Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He was a recipient of the Friends Fellowship of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the MD Anderson Cancer Center Physician-Scientist Award, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for Physicians, and the American College of Rheumatology Outstanding Medical Student Achievement Award.  He has published 90 peer-reviewed articles, has authored 9 book chapters, and was the Editor-in-Chief of a review book on T-cell lymphomas. He has served as a reviewer for multiple scientific journals.  His pioneering work on the surface antigen CD26/Dipeptidyl peptidase IV has resulted in the development of a novel anti-CD26 antibody which is currently in clinical development.
