Associate Professor, Department of Physics and Astronomy
Clemson University, USA

Biography

Dr. Pu-Chun Ke obtained his PhD in 2000 in near-field optics and laser trapping from Victoria University, Australia. His postdoctoral research was conducted at Indiana University-Purdue University (2000-2001) and the University of California, San Diego (2001-2003) on single-molecule membrane diffusion, chromatin assembly, and biopolymer reptation. In 2008 he won an NSF CAREER award for his research at the interfaces of biophysics, nanoscience, and environmental science. He is currently an associate professor of biophysics at Clemson University and has served as the Editor-in-Chief of The Open Nanoscience Journal since 2008. His major research interests are the phenomena at the interface of nanoparticles and the cell, DNA damage, polymer physics, and fluorescence microscopy and spectroscopy.
