Biography
Shiva Raj Adhikari is an Associate Professor of Health Economics of the Department of Economics at Tribhuvan University. He received a M. A. in Economics from Tribhuvan University and a PhD in Health Economics from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. He received UNICEF/UNDP/World Bank/WHO special research programme for Research and Training in Tropical Disease (TDR) grant for his PhD. He is an executive member of Nepal Health Economics Association, Kathmandu. Dr Adhikari has received numerous grants for his health economics and tropical disease related researches. He was a short term scholar at school of public health, Tulane University, USA in 2010. He has extensive experiences in conducting researches in economics of tropical diseases, poverty and diseases, cost benefit analysis of disease control, equity in health care financing. He has published articles on poverty and tropical diseases, equity in health care financing, cost benefit analysis and serves as referee for many academic journals.
