Dr. Malpe Surekha Bhat is Professor in Biochemistry and Member, Research committee at Xavier University School of medicine, Aruba. She was awarded Ph.D by Manipal University, India, in June 2005, for her thesis entitled “Alterations in the status of oxidative stress and antioxidant profile in rats housed in pyramid model”. She has also awarded with the Dr.TMA Pai Gold medal for excellence in medical research by Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, in 2005 for her paper ‘Effect of housing rats within a pyramid on stress parameters’. She has published many more papers in International Journal and many more are on pipeline.
Dr. Malpe Surekha Bhat's research interest include Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency, Complementary Medicine (including pyramidology), Lawsone-Keratin interaction, Procalcitonin as a marker of infections etc.
