Dr. Wood was born and raised in Indiana, and received his BS(Honors) in chemistry from Indiana University in Bloomington. After completing his PhD at the Ohio State University under the direction of Alan Marshall, Dr. Wood spent two years as a postdoc at Cornell University under the direction of Fred McLafferty. Dr. Wood has been a member of the Department of Chemistry at the University at Buffalo (UB) since 1995. He is currently an Associate Professor and Chair of the Pre-Health Committee at UB. His research interests include metabolomics and biomarker identification, imaging mass spectrometry, microreactors, high-resolution mass spectrometry, and chemical education.
