Biography

Wieslaw Furmaga holds a faculty position in the department of Pathology, at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio TX. He is a medical director of Clinical Chemistry, Special Chemistry and Molecular pathology laboratories in the same institution. He has received Master degree in Clinical Investigation from the UTHSCSA at San Antonio TX and Medical Doctor Degree from Collegium Medicum, at The Jagiellonian University, Poland. Subsequently he has done residency in anatomic and clinical pathology in UMD Newark NJ and Hartford Hospital, Hartford CT, as well as fellowship in Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology. His expertise comprises proteomics, pharmacogenomics with targeted therapy as well as clinical chemistry and toxicology. The research interest combines a discovery of diagnostic markers for hemorrhagic shock as well as finding makers for early detection of aggressive prostate cancers.
