We apply systems biology approaches to integrate high-dimensional data sets, including static and dynamic imaging data, protein interactions, genetic interactions, biochemical pathways, and next-generation sequencing data on genomic sequence, RNA expression, DNA methylation, and chromatin modifications. Our computational approaches are bioinformatics data mining, network modeling, stoichiometric modeling, kinetic modeling, and spatial-temporal modeling. Current biological topics are yeast and mammalian meiosis, epigenetic regulation of mammalian LINE-1 retrotransposons, and genome-scale profiling of chromosomal abnormalities. Our goal is to obtain a quantitative understanding of complex biological systems.
