Stephen G. Schwartz, MD, MBA is Associate Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and Medical Director of the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at Naples. He is a graduate of Cornell University, New York University School of Medicine, and Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University. He completed an ophthalmology residency at New York University School of Medicine and a vitreoretinal fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. He is the current President of the Florida Society of Ophthalmology. Raul Martín is a registered optometrist (Spanish Council of Optometry and General Optical Council UK). He received Masters in visual sciences (MSc) and PhD from University of Valladolid, Spain. Dr. Ramana is a Professor at Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston TX, USA. Timothy Duong was the winner of the ISMRM Rabi’s Young Investigator Award (1998), a NSF predoctoral fellowship (1994-1998), and a recipient of a NIH NRSA postdoctoral fellowship (1999-2001) during postdoc training at the Center of Magnetic Resonance Research at the University of Minnesota. Gianmarco Vizzeri, M.D. is Assistant Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, University of Texas Medical Branch. Iva Dekaris, Associate professor of the University of Rijeka-School of Medicine (2009), is a  Medical Director at University Eye Hospital “Svjetlost” in Zagreb (Croatia, Europe), and President of the European Eye Bank Association (EEBA; 2010-2013). She became Associate-member of Croatian Academy of Science and Arts in 2006. She defended her PhD: „The role of cytokines in corneal graft rejection“ in 1999, at School of Medicine in Zagreb. She finished 2 postgraduate studies (Biomedicine at the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb in 1993, and Ophthalmology at the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb, in 1999). In 2003 she was elected to Assistant Professor and in 2009 to Associate Professor at School of Medicine of the University in Rijeka (Croatia). She was trained abroad (Austria, Germany, France, Netherlands), longest from 1997 to 1998 when she finished Research fellowship in Cornea and practical part of her PhD at Harvard Medical School.  She published 42 papers in CC journals, 10 in other indexed journals, 10 in non-indexed journals, 1 book, 22 chapters in the book and 238 abstracts at conferences, published citations 276: Scopus Index. She is a lecturer at postgraduate School at Universities of Rijeka and Zagreb-School of Medicine and a reviewer for IOVS, Acta Ophthalmologica, Eye, Molecular Vision, Collegium Antropologicum, Acta Neurologica, OMICS Publishing Group and BioMed Central.

Dr. Rao received his PhD from one of the topnotch pharmacy schools in India, University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kakatiya University, Andhra Pradesh, India. He taught human anatomy, physiology and pharmacology to BS pharmacy students for more than 3 years. Post PhD, he worked for Drug Discovery and Development giants, Lupin Research Park, Lupin Limited, and Advinus Therapeutics Pvt. Ltd., Pune, India in Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) division from 2006 to 2010. Dr. Rao is playing a key role in design and development of a novel Bioerodible Dexamethasone Implants (BDI) to provide targeted (local) and sustained release of dexamethasone during the critical postoperative time period, thus eliminating the need for topical steroid drops after cataract surgery. Dr. Rao is the co-inventor on 2 patents and published several papers in international peer-reviewed journals and his work is cited in the biomedical literature by colleagues all over the world. Dr. Rao is a peer reviewer for more than ten international journals and serving in the editorial and advisory boards of several pharmaceutical and bio-medical journals.

Dr. Kip Connor is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School.He received his Ph.D. degree from Albany Medical College in 2005. Dr. Connor did his post-graduate work at Children’s Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School, where he also obtained his first faculty position from 2005 to 2010.
