Hydrology:Current Research is an Open Access journal and aims to publish most complete and reliable source of information on the discoveries and current developments in the mode of original articles, review articles, case reports, short communications, etc. in all areas of the field and making them freely available through online without any restrictions or any other subscriptions to researchers worldwide. Hydrology: Current research open access, peer reviewed Journal provides international exploration on all aspects of Hydrology and also publishes the high impact research work in the widest sense. The journal is using Editorial Manager System for quality in review process. Editorial Manager is an online manuscript submission, review and tracking systems. Review processing is performed by the editorial board members of Hydrology:Current Research or outside experts; at least two independent reviewers approval followed by editor approval is required for acceptance of any citable manuscript. Authors may submit manuscripts and track their progress through the system, hopefully to publication. Reviewers can download manuscripts and submit their opinions to the editor. Editors can manage the whole submission/review/revise/publish process.

Hydrology is the scientific study of the movement, distribution, and quality of water on Earth and other planets, including the hydrologic cycle, water resources and environmental watershed sustainability. A practitioner of hydrology is a hydrologist, working within the fields of earth or environmental science, physical geography, geology or civil and environmental engineering.

Ground Water

Ground water is the name used to describe water which is stored underground in permeable rocks. Most groundwater flows and emerges at the ground surface as a spring or within a river. Groundwater and surface water are intimately connected such that pollution which enters groundwater can emerge in surface water. Groundwater is used for drinking water supply and by industry. Pumping too much groundwater can cause rivers to dry up and the level of lakes to fall unacceptably low.

Hydrologic Cycle

The hydrologic cycle is a conceptual model that describes the storage and movement of water between the biosphere, atmosphere, lithosphere, and the hydrosphere. Water on our planet can be stored in any one of the following major reservoirs: atmosphere, oceans, lakes, rivers, soils, glaciers, snowfields, and groundwater. Water moves from one reservoir to another by way of processes like evaporation, condensation, precipitation, deposition, runoff, infiltration, sublimation, transpiration, melting, and groundwater flow.

Spring Hydrology

Spring is a natural situation where water flows from an aquifier to the earths surface. It is a component of hydrosphere. Spring in hydrology, opening at or near the surface of the Earth for the discharge of water from underground sources. A spring is a natural discharge point of subterranean water at the surface of the ground or directly into the bed of a stream, lake, or sea. Water that emerges at the surface without a perceptible current is called a seep. Wells are holes excavated to bring water and other underground fluids to the surface.

Topmodel Hydrology

Topmodel is a versatile hydrological model at catchment scale based on a simple topographic description and runoff mechanisms including both saturation excess and infiltration excess runoff. The model simulates explicit groundwater/surface­ water interactions by predicting the movement of the water table, which determines where saturated land-surface areas develop and have the potential to produce saturation overland flow.

Forest Hydrology

In a watershed forests are an important influence on how water is stored and moved throughout the ecosystem. Being a primary consumer of water, forest vegetation has an effect on the balance of water resources available for streamflow. Furthermore, water is returned to the atmosphere by means of evaporation from water stored in the forest canopy and floor, soil surface and water bodies such as wetlands, as well as from plant transpiration that provides a pathway for groundwater to reach the atmosphere.

Vadose Zone Hydrology

Vadose zone region of aeration above the water table. This zone also includes the capillary fringe above the water table, the height of which will vary according to the grain size of the sediments. In coarse-grained mediums the fringe may be flat at the top and thin, whereas in finer grained material it will tend to be higher and may be very irregular along the upper surface.

Hydrogeology is the area of geology that deals with the distribution and movement of groundwater in the soil and rocks of the Earth's crust. The term geohydrology is often used interchangeably. Some make the minor distinction between a hydrologist or engineer applying themselves to geology, and a geologist applying themselves to hydrology.
