  • Stickler syndrome

    Stickler syndrome is a group of hereditary conditions characterized by a distinctive facial appearance, eye abnormalities, hearing loss, and joint problems. These signs and symptoms vary widely among affected individuals. A characteristic feature of Stickler syndrome is a somewhat flattened facial appearance.

     Many professionals that are likely to be involved in the treatment of those with Stickler's syndrome, include oral and maxillofacial surgeons; craniofacial surgeons; ear, nose, and throat specialists, ophthalmologists, audiologists and rheumatologists. The spontaneous subconjunctivalhemorrhage patients was 6.93 (4.72) mm, and that of the controls was 14.70 (3.70) mm. A statistical difference was found between the two groups (independent samples t test, t=-8.79, p<0.001).
