Bonobo is also called as pan paniscus formerly called as pygmy chimpanzee and less often known as dwarf chimpanzee. They are omnivorous species and they are mostly distributed in primary and secondary forests. According to studies regarding the behavior of bonobos females have a higher social status in bonobo society. Males are very tolerant to infants and juveniles when compared to males. A male bonobo derives its status from status of his mother.Mother and son bonobo bond is strong and continuous throughout life. When compared to other primates bonobos are more closely related to humans.
