Leydig cell tumor is a model that resembles human cachexia rather well, because the tumor induced slow progression of anorexia, as well as marked weight loss. NO-1886 prevented the decrease in carcass weight and malnutrition resulting from the appetite suppression attributable to Leydig cell tumors.
