Biography

Dr. Claudio de Lucia took his degree in Medicine at the University of Naples "Federico II", discussing a thesis entitled: "Role of physical activity on the prognosis of elderly patients with ischemic heart failure that underwent coronary surgery". Currently, Dr. de Lucia is Resident in Geriatrics in the University of Naples “Federico II” and from September 2012 to March 2013 he spent his Visiting Research Fellow in Center for Translational Medicine of the Temple University, under the mentorship of Dr. W.J. Koch, and learned a new model of heart failure in mice. Dr. de Lucia won the American Heart Association's award with the abstract presentation "GRK2 regulates α2A-AR Function and Catecholamine Release in Human Adrenal Chromaffin Cells” in AHA Scientific Sessions 2012 and won the University of Naples “Federico II” award called “PROGRAMMA STAR, LINEA 2, MOBILITÀ GIOVANI RICERCATORI 2013”. His principal research interest is the role of G-Protein Coupled Receptors and G-Protein Coupled Receptor Kinases in the pathogenesis of heart failure and tumors. Dr. de Lucia is author of several research articles for journals with impact factor, chapters of books and abstracts for international conferences.
