The nursing profession has been everywhere ever since the beginning of time however has significantly progressed over the course of history. Today nurses are one of the most important livings within the health care industry. They are educated in a varied array of professional duties and are utilized in a throughout the world. It is said that the first documented aspects of nursing place the beginning of the profession during the height of the Roman empire. It was through this time that the Empire pursued to place a hospital in every city under its rule. When talking about nursing in the Middle Ages there were a countless of progressions and improvements that were effected within the nursing industry during these years, helping to form some of the origins of modern nursing. During the beginning of the 10th and 11th centuries that nursing began to develop. Because of the inspiration of Florence Nightingale the nursing became as a profession today even though both Europe and the U.S. presented different progressions throughout the period.
