Spatial distribution is a specialization in ecology and geography that is concerned with the identification of spatial patterns and their relationships to ecological phenomena. Spatial distributions that can be mapped can include anything from temperatures in an ocean, the language of a country, the spread of forest fires in a region, and the ethnic demographics of a particular city. Spatial ecology is the relationship between the distribution and abundance of organisms, and the resources available in the surrounding environment
