Sudden Cardiac arrest

Sudden cardiac arrest occurs suddenly without warning. The pumping action disrupted in sudden cardiac arrest, the heart cannot pump blood to the brain, lungs and other organs. Due to sudden cardiac arrest, blood stops flowing to the brain and other vital organs of the body.

This result in an electrical malfunction causes irregular heartbeat; later a person loses consciousness and pulse death occurs in minutes. Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to people of all ages and health conditions. People who have heart disease are at higher risk for sudden cardiac arrest. However, sudden cardiac arrest can happen in people who appear healthy and have no known heart disease or other risk factors for the disease.

Rapid treatment of sudden cardiac arrest with a defibrillator can be lifesaving. A defibrillator is a device that sends an electric shock to the heart to try to restore its normal rhythm.
