Biography :

Prof. Dr. Karsten Knobloch, FACS received his medical degree at Georg-August University, Goettingen, Germany. His surgical career started at the cardiothoracic and vascular surgery service at Hannover Medical School, followed by general surgery, Trauma Surgery and Plastic and Hand Surgery. Prof. Knobloch, FACS holds board certifications for general surgery and plastic and aesthetic surgery. In 2010 Prof. Dr. Karsten Knobloch was elected as Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He currently serves at Plastic, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery, Hannover Medical School as vice chairman of the department. Prof. Knobloch, FACS is a member of the editorial board in five journals such as Plastic Surgery International, The British Journal of Sports Medicine or the Air Medical Journal. He is current reviewer of 30 journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, Plastic Reconstructive Surgery, Rheumatology, Vaccine and others. He has published more than 250 peer-reviewed papers, various book chapters and one book on sport injuries.

Dr. Sammy Al-Benna has received his Ph.D.  from University of Glasgow in the year of 2007. He held positions of General Secretary in European Plastic Surgery Research Council  in the year of 2008. Currently, he is a Plastic Surgeon, BG University Hospital Bergmannsheil, Ruhr University Bochum, Bochum, Germany. He is an Ad hoc reviewer for number of Journals i.e. Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, The Breast, Open Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery Journal, World Journal of Surgery, BMC Research Notes, The American Journal of Case Reports and etc.

Biography :

Thomas Namdar, MD studied human medicine at the medical faculities of the RWTH-Aachen University, Germany and the UAB University, Spain. During his residency he worked for several years in General, Visceral and Paediatric Surgery and in Plastic Surgery, Burn and Hand Surgery. He spends a lot of engangement in medical research and published as author or co‐author
more than 30 peer-reviewed articles in international scientific journals. He presented more than 40 papers at national and international scientific meetings. In addition he was investigator in clinical studies.

Dr. Howard C.Tenenbaum  is a professor of Periodontology Faculty of Dentistry at University of Toronto. He received his DDS degree from University of Toronto in 1978. He received Ph.D. Oral Biology University of Toronto 1982. F.R.C.D.(C) Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists (Canada) by written and Oral 1992 FICD  Fellow of the International College of Dentists (Honourary) FADI  Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International (Honourary).Currently he is carrying out academic and research duties in addition to clinical practice at the University of Toronto. This is being done both in the Faculty of Dentistry and at the Mount Sinai Hospital. His  major area of research interest is in the area of bone metabolism. They are using in vitro model systems to address questions of bone cell function and differentiation. A second area of interest is clinically oriented and involves the study of TMJ dysfunction and Facial pain

Dr. Sompop Bencharit is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics, School of Dentistry and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology, School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). Dr. Bencharit received his DDS in 1994 and Clinical Diploma in Prosthodontics in 1996 from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. Dr. Bencharit came to UNC in 1996 for his residency training and graduate education. He earned his Certificate and Master Degree in Prosthodontics in 1999, a PhD in Oral Biology in 2003, and a Certificate in Clinical Research in 2008 from UNC. In November 2009, Dr. Bencharit became a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. He is one of a very few clinician-scientists who are both board-certified dental clinicians and PhD scientists.

Dr.Laith M Abdulhadi, has obtained his specialization in total and partial oral rehabilitation and Doctorate in Dental Sciences (DDS) from University Paris 7 in 1984.He worked as a teacher and consultant since 1984 to date without interruption in 5 universities to teach, supervise, under and postgraduate students and treat challenging cases of oral and maxillofacial defects. He is a member of many international dental organizations and a reviewer of three international journals.His research interest includes multi- disciplines including, biomedical engineering, clinical and laboratory technique, software integration in dental research, curriculum development, and teaching technology. The most interesting areas are the maxillofacial retention mean, material research, occlusion, TMD, silicone color matching and implant in addition to other prosthetic replacement.He published many articles in referred scientific journals and presented many oral presentations in international meetings and conferences.

Ali Modarressi, MD is actually the “chief of clinic” of Plastic, Reconstructive & Plastic Surgery department of University hospital of Geneva in Switzerland. During his 10 years training in Switzerland, Dr. Modarressi acquired important experience in all areas of plastic surgery including cosmetic, reconstructive surgery and microsurgery. He is board certified with Swiss diploma of Plastic, Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgery (FMH) and fellow of the European Board of Plastic Surgeons (EBOPRAS). Major emphasis was placed on tissue regeneration with stem cells (fat grafting and platelet riche plasma) and wound healing, where he did an extensive research. Thanks to his basic science and clinical experience he trained many physicians since several years in different field of aesthetic medicine and surgery. He is member of Swiss Society of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery (SSCPRE), International Federation of Adipose Therapeutic & Sciences (IFATS) European Society for Surgical Research (ESSR) and faculty member of American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM)

Dr. Mohamed El-Shazly is an associate professor of Plastic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Assiut, Egypt. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees from Assiut University in 1991 and 1996. He received Ph.D. Microsurgery from University of Munich in Germany in 2002 as a fellow of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) where he developed and promoted the idea of endoscopic assisted microsurgery in Klinikum Grosshadern and Institute of Surgical Research of the University of Munich. He got his Doctorate degree in Plastic Surgery from Assiut University in 2003. Dr El-Shazly has three registered patents of microsurgical instruments; two of them were already prototyped. He was invited and presented his work in many international events and has more than 30 international publications. He is currently a reviewer, guest editor, and a scientific advisory board member in many concerned international plastic and reconstructive surgery journals. He got the best paper prize twice from the Egyptian Society of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons in 2002 and 2007. He was awarded many international training fellowships in Toulouse University- France (1998), Munich University – Germany (1999), Chang Gang University – Taiwan (2001) and Institute Gustav Roussy – France (2011). In 2005, he founded the charitable organization of Operation Smile Egypt which is presenting free reconstructive cleft surgeries to the children in need. Currently he is carrying out academic and research duties in addition to clinical practice at the University of Assiut. His major area of research interest is reconstructive microsurgery. A second area of interest is clinically oriented and involves rhinoplasty and cleft surgeries.
