Biography :

Preecha P. Yupapin received his B.Ed. in Physics, M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics, PhD in Electrical Engineering from Srinakarinwirote University, Mahidol University and City University of London  in 1981, 1983 and 1993  respectively. He was a post-doctor research fellowship in 1994 under the European Community research project. He has been appointed as a visiting professor at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia since 2007. He has been promoted as a Professor of Physics in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Bangkok, Thailand since 2009. He has authored/co-authored more than 401 published papers in SCOPUS database and 30 chapters and books. He has supervised 70 PhD Students and candidates in both local and international universities. He has also been appointed as an editorial board member and editor in chief of 10 international journals. Professor Yupapin is a member of Thai Institute Physics (TIP), SPIE, OSA senior membership, and was a president of the OSA-Thailand Chapter from 2002-2004.

Biography :

Professor Rueyan Doong has received his PhD in Environmental Engineering at National Taiwan University, Taiwan in 1992. Currently he is working as full professor in Department of Biomedical Engineering and Environmental Sciences, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like Journal of Environmental Engineering and Management and Global Journal of Environmental Science and Technology. He has authored more than 100 research articles/books. He has honored as fellow of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany.

Alexander D Rosenstein received postgraduate training at University of California, San Diego Medical Center, Orthopaedic Residency Program (7/82 to 6/87) and Oxford University, England. Nuffield Orthopaedic Center, Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement (9/87 to 8/88). Wan-Ju Li is Head of Laboratory of Musculoskeletal Biology and Regenerative Medicine, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Wisconsin. He is also Assistant Professor in Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation and Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty in Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Center and Trainer in Graduate Program in Cellular and Molecular Biology. Deepak Nagrath received his PhD degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering (Aug 1997-May 2003) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York. Professor Yuehe Lin has received his PhD from University of Idaho in 1997. Currently he is a fellow of Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like Talanta and Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Dr. Yuan is an assistant professor and Director of Bioimaging Core with Faculty of Health Sciences at University of Macau. Before joined University of Macau, he had been working as a clinical assistant professor with the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication/Department of Psychology at Arizona State University (9/2012-6/2013) and research assistant professor in the Biomedical Engineering Department at University of Florida (09/2007-09/2012). He received his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Science and technology of China in 2002. Between 2002 and 2007, he had received several postdoc trainings in different institutes including National University of Singapore (2002-2004), Clemson University (2005) and University of Florida (2005-2007). His academic investigation is focused on cutting-edge research and development in laser, ultrasound and EEG/fMRI-related biomedical technologies including biomedical imaging and signal processing/spectroscopy, biomedical optics, neurosciences and nanomedicine. He, as the principal or co-investigator for the above research activities, has achieved national and international recognition through more than 50 publications in high ranked journals and over 1000 independent citations. He was selected to be an active reviewer for over 30 top journals. He is a guess associate editor of Medical Physics and Applied Optics, and editorial board members of Journal of Biosensors and Bioelectronics and International Journal of Biomedical Engineering. He is a senior member of OSA and senior member of SPIE.

Professor Csilla Gergely has received her PhD from Szeged University Hungary in 1997. Currently she is working as biophysicist in Montpellier 2 University in France. She has successfully completed her administrative responsibilities as head of the Bionanophotonics team and coordinator of several national and international interdisciplinary collaborative projects. She is reviewer of several reputed journals like Eur J Biomed Opt  Biomacromolecules Eur Biophys, J Langmuir Biosensors and Bioelectronics Colloids and Interface Sciences J Biomed Materials Res and J Biomedical Devices. She has authored 52 research articles and book chapters 42 conference proceedings and 2 patents. She was awarded as best young scientist from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and holds the Robert Frank Award attributed by the International Association for Dental Research.

Dr. Subbiah Alwarappan received his Undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Alagappa Government Arts College, Karaikudi, India and Masters in Chemistry from Presidency College, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. Dr. Yupapin is a member of Thai Institute Physics (TIP), South East Asia Theoretical Physics Association (SEATPA) committee, Optical Society of America (OSA) and IEEE. He got several outstanding works, where one of them has related to the Nobel Prize Awards in 2012 on “Stopping Light” concept in IEEE-Photonics Technology Letters, 2009. He has also been a candidate of Eni Awards (Nobel Prize in Energy) in 2013 on New Type Solar Cells in Optics Express, 2012.

Jalil Ali received his PhD in plasma physics from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 1990. At present, he is a professor of photonics at the Institute of Advanced Photonics Science, ESci Nano Research Alliance and the Physics Department of UTM. He has authored/coauthored more than 200 technical papers published in international journal, three books and a number of book chapters. His areas of interests are in FBGs, optical solitons, fiber couplers, and nanowaveguides. He is currently the Head of Nanophotonics research group, ESci Nano Research Alliance, UTM. Dr. Jalil Ali is a member of OSA, SPIE, and the Malaysian Institute of Physics.
