The Cancer Science Institute of Singapore (CSI Singapore) was set up in 2008 in National University of Singapore premises and is dedicated to top class cancer research and clinical translational studies. Research is funded at the institution by National Research Foundation and Ministry of Education. Highly talented researchers and clinicians are acting as principal investigators at CSI Singapore who manage research activities and work closely in collaboration with various nationally and internationally renowned cancer centers. CSI Singapore visioned to be known as world class institution for state of the art cancer and translational research. It has wide range of cancer research facilities. The main research focus of the institution has been on gastric, liver, leukaemia, breast and lung cancers which are more prevalent in populations of Asian continent. The objective is to develop new insights to understand, prevent, diagnose and treat cancers via two programs: Cancer Stem Cells and Biology programme and Experimental Therapeutics programme. The institution is also providing PhD research program to encourage enthusiastic and talented scholars who want to make their career in cancer research. It conducts ‘Frontiers in Cancer Science’ conference every year to bring cancer experts from across the world onto a single platform to help build up scientific partnerships.
