Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences was Founded in 1908,it is the provincial agricultural research organization in Fujian. It includes research institutes on rice, fruit trees, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, plant protection, soil and fertilizers, sugarcane, tea, crops, agriculture engineering and technology, agricultural economy and scientific information, ecology, biotechnology and agricultural bioresources. In addition, the Academy has a central labï¼a mushroom research and development station and a training center. Currently, it has established a national branch for rice improvement in Fuzhou, a national longan and loquat nursery and a national azolla nursery. There are also other facilities including 1 ministerial key lab, 2 provincial key labs, 8 provincial research centers of engineering and technology as well as the 130-hectare experimentation stations that preserve more than 13,000 varieties of plants.
