Mie University is a national college in Tsu, Mie, Japan. Likewise with other "national" colleges, "Miedai" has been a national college partnership since April 2004, when state-funded universities were incompletely privatized. In 2006, it was positioned 250th in the Times Higher Education Supplement rundown of the world's best colleges. Mie University was established on 31 May 1949 with two faculties: Liberal Arts and Agriculture. These two faculties are the main foundations and currently offering with six faculties: Humanities, Medicine, Education, Bioresources, Engineering and Common Education. Its 'Community for International Exchange' pushes universal connections and issues including the worldwide community. The institution is Mie's just 'national university', found in the city of Tsu in the Kansai district. The campus is located in the north-east of the city, near to the coastal area of Ise Bay, in spite of the fact that a few students make utilization nearby accommodation.
