The University of Macau is spotted in Macau, being the heading tertiary establishment of the city which has perfection in educating, research and administration to the group. Established in 1981, it is the oldest organization in Macau, and additionally the biggest college in the city as far as staff size and projects is concerned. It was secured as the University of East Asia, which was a private college emulated British college structure and most students originated from British Hong Kong. As the readiness of Macau's handover, it was renamed to University of Macau, gained as a state funded college and transformed to Portuguese college structure by the legislature of Portuguese Macau. The university’s campus is found in northern Taipa. It is sorted out into four private universities and seven scholastic employees. The fundamental medium of direction is English, while certain courses are taught in Chinese, Portuguese and Japanese. The new campus on Hengqin formally opened in July 2013.
