S. typhimurium (3 log CFU in 0.03% TSB medium) was inoculated on tomato surfaces (5 × 5 mm2) and grown for 24 h at 37°C and 100% RH. Q-PCR was performed in duplicate for each tomato sample. A Ct value represents 1/125 of total inoculated area (5 × 5 mm2), corresponding with the area of one ME sensor.
