Figure 6: Concentration of S. typhimurium determined using BGS-plate count, Q-PCR, and phage-based ME biosensor methods. S. typhimurium (3 log CFU in 0.03% TSB medium) was inoculated on each of tomato surface (5 × 5 mm2) and grown for 24 h at 37°C and 100% RH. The negative control was inoculated with sterilized DW and incubated for 24 h at 37°C and 100% RH prior to BGS-plate count method. Different letters (a, b) indicated that there were significant differences between measurement methods at P < 0.05. Negative control was measured by both Q-PCR and ME biosensor method. |
