ESBL producing K. pneumoniae and E. coli were frequently isolated from all the
sites of samples from the NICU.
Table 4 details the no. of isolates from each site. It is significant to note that ESBL
producing strains were always isolated from one of the incubators, phototherapy
units, suction apparatus and trolley. |
