Figure 12: Software-based process bioanalytics. Output data on product parameters are derived from the input data on process parameters that are actually measured online and then transformed on the basis of historical data and a data model by the “softsensor”. The process, e.g. fermentation, will be regulated by the control unit which regulates the influx of medium, oxygen and buffer as well as the operation of heating and cooling devices in comparison to reference values for the corresponding product parameter.
