Figure 3: Clinical cases with different intravascular approaches in NANOM-FIM trial. Panel (a) depicts a case of 56-year old female patient N. (Ferro group) with stable coronary artery disease and lesion in LAD (left anterior descending): diagonal artery. At the serial QCA from left to the right, changes in the lumen dimension from baseline to 1- and 5-year follow-up could be appreciated. This case represents implantation of the stent proximal to the site of nano-intervention. QCA-images at 1- and 5-year follow-up were showed in the modes with (see upper panel) and without (bottom panel) contrast for demonstration of the implanted stent. Site of nanointervention is not visible in QCA. Panel (b) shows a case of 37-year old male patient N. (Ferro group) with stable CAD and significant stenosis at the main stem of LAD. This case represents drug-coated balloon pre-dilatation of the atherosclerotic target lesion at the site of the further nano-intervention. Left panels (from the top to the bottom) show MSCT-scans in 2D- and 3D-modes where lumen enlargement at 1- and 5-year follow-up is documented. Right panels present 2D QCA with evidences of the device absence at the target lesion at 1-year follow-up (pictures with and without contrast). Panel (c) demonstrates a case of 54 year old male patient R. (Nano group) with stable CAD and lesion at the proximal segment of LAD: main stem. Serial 2D- and 3D-MSCT (QangioCT software, Medis, The Netherlands) reconstructions show changes in the lumen dimensions from baseline to 1- and 3-year follow-up. This case represents drug-coated balloon pre-dilatation of the atherosclerotic target lesion at the site of the further nano-intervention. |
