Figure 2: A future application of nanotechnologies for the treatment of osteo-chondral defects: MSCs can be magnetized by using iron nanoparticles in order to guide them towards the osteo-chondral defect through external magnetic fields. Moreover a nanostructured scaffolds can be applied as tridimensional support and it can guide the MSCs differentiation by using specific scaffold nanostructured patterns (Mechanotransduction).
